Primula elatior, the oxlip (or True oxlip), is a flowering plant in the genus Primula, found in nutient- and calcium-rich damp woods and meadows throughout Europe eastwards to Altai Mountains and as far north as Scandinavian Mountains in northern Norway and on the Kola Peninsula in Russia. In the British Isles, it is found only in the east, and mainly in East Anglia.
It is a low growing herbaceous perennial plant with a rosette of leaves 5-15 cm long and 2-6 cm broad. The deep yellow flowers are produced in the spring between April and May; they are in clusters of 10-30 together on a single stem 10-30 cm tall, each flower 9-15 mm broad.
It may be confused with the closely related Primula veris (cowslip) which has a similar general appearance although the oxlip has larger, pale yellow flowers more like a primrose, and a corolla tube without folds. (Wikipedia)

I like to catch the light through the petals of the flowers. That's means kneeling at the foot of the plant...

La Primevère élevée ou primevère des bois (Primula elatior) est une plante herbacée pérenne de la famille des Primulacées.
C'est une plante de mi-ombre des lisières et sous-bois clairs. Les pétales étalés, soudés à la base sont jaune crème avec une partie inférieure jaune d'or.
Autrefois, largement répandue dans toute l'Europe, elle tend à régresser dans les forêts très artificialisées. C'est un espèce à faible pouvoir de dispersion, considérée comme indicatrice de boisements ou forêts anciennes quand elle est abondante. Elle ne se disperse pas au delà d'une centaine de mètres hors des milieux boisés. (Wikipedia)
Elle se distingue du coucou de printemps (Primula veris), qui préfère les endroits découverts, fleurit un peu plus tard et a des fleurs jaunes avec cinq taches orangées.

J'aime capturer la lumière à travers les pétales des fleurs. Cela signifie s'agenouiller au pieds des plantes...

This is Brilliant!!...Your use of light here is just right..It has really bought out some fantastic shadows as well..The water drops are the icing on the cake!!
perfect choice of f14 has given sharp details of the oxslip and great oof BG.

Hi Catherine. This is a very good close up of this beautiful flower. I like your Low POV/DOF. good use of the light which has given natural coours. Good with the water droplets. well done TFS.

Hi Catherine!

Capturing drops on flowers always touches me, but this shot of yours is even special among these!
The sunlight is captured in a magnificent way, and this way the flowers are shown as lightweight as possible. Colors are also very decent, not too saturated (I can say they are light too), the whole picture could be simply called "LIGHT" !
Dof is perfect and the little shine point on the edge of one of the petals is also catching!
Straight way to my favorites, many TFS!

Commencer la journée au bureau avec une photo resplandissante est un vrai bonheur. J'adore l'unité des couleurs dans cette image, en plus, le tout est admirablement bien exposé et les goutelettes d'eau apparaissent plutôt comme des perles...

Wonderful shot of these beautiful flowers with amazing sharpness and colours. The backlighting is very skillfully handled and it creates magic. The water droplets makes the image majestic. Excellent DOF isolates it from the fine BG and a well chosen POV to portray it. Very nicely composed. Kudos.

Beautiful shot! The light, composition and the water droplets, all look wonderful. The soft colours look are charming. But I feel it wud have been even better if the flower at the left top corner in the background were a little more blurred and smeared out with the rest of the bg, since it is a little bit distracting for me. Anyways, I think it is always difficult to take pictures of flowers and make them look extraordinarily beautiful, but u have done it perfectly! Congrats.
