Germander speedwell (Veronica chamaedrys L.) is a species of Veronica, native to Europe and northern Asia. It is a herbaceous perennial plant growing to 25 cm tall, with hairy stems and leaves. It is found in grassy areas and hedgerows. The flowers are blue, with a four-lobed corolla and a distinct white 'pupil' in the centre, giving it the country name of 'cat's eye'. It has triangular shaped leaves and hairy stems. This is a nectar source for solitary bees. (Wikipedia, Natural England)

Wonderful shot! Nice colours. The small bright blue flowers look great in front of the washed out green bg. Also there is a 'flow' in the bg which leads towards the fly, which I like very much. Excellent composition.

Hello Catherine!
This is very optimistic presentation. Composition is rather simple, but brings a very nice effect. I like also natural, but eautiful colours of the photo. And moreover we have a small visitor on the flower, a small Syrphidae fly :)
Best regards from Poland,
Radomir
