[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Chlorophyllum rhacodes or Shaggy parasol is found in North America and Europe (the latter species is also found in Australia).
It was formerly known as Macrolepiota rhacodes or Lepiota rhacodes, but the name was changed on the basis of molecular phylogenetic evidence demonstrating a closer relationship to Chlorophyllum molybdites.
It is a large and conspicuous agaric, with thick brown scales and protuberances on its fleshy white cap. The gills and spore print are both white in colour. Its stipe is slender, but bulbous at the base, is coloured uniformly and bears no patterns. It is fleshy, and a reddish, or maroon discoloration occurs and a pungent odour is evolved when it is cut. The egg-shaped caps become wider and flatter as they mature.
The stem grows to 10 to 20 cm (4 to 8 in) tall. The cap grows to 7.5 to 20 cm (3 to 8 in) across, while the stipe has a diameter of 1 to 2 centimetres. (Wikipedia)
--------------------------------------------------------

Merci!

Hi Catherine. Often a low POV helps with a fungi shot but i think you were right with the top POV in this one. It shows us all the markings on the cap, which you have taken with fine detail and natural colours. It blends in well with the Leaves. all with interesting notes too.

Hi Catherine,

I have alois admired the way you use the light. This photo makes no exception. The same nice light rendering good and natural looking colors is present in this image too. The mushroom is shown in great sharpness so that the texture of the hat can be well observed.

Thank you for sharing,
Cristian

Ciao Catherine, lovely fungi in a beautiful autumnal composition with splendid light and colors, excellent sharpness, very well done, ciao Silvio

Hi Catherine,
Beautiful Shaggy Parasol photo, sharp as razorblade, with nice color tone, and excellent placing of the mushroom. My only problem is not really a problem, because that type of post-procession which comes to my mind isn't allowed on TN. I'm talking about partial desaturation (fungus in colors and the rest in b/w), because this is the case where colors - too much of the similar colors - may be a bit distracting elements. But as a natural photo, this is more than OK.
Best wishes from Hungary, László
