hey all!sry for being away for a while but i was busy with exams on school, they are done now so you will hear more for me now :D
i took a dozen of shots and this is the best one that came out,so if anyone has any tips for photographing birds, pls let me know!
the bird on the coconut was protecting its food and getting rid of other birds,it was funny to see him while doin that!

some info:
The largest member of the tit family, as its name clearly denotes, it can reach a length of up to 14cm (5.5in). It has a typical black and white face pattern and a broad yellow breast, embellished by a black bib, which extends to a wide black stripe down the underbody, ending in a patch between the legs. Distinguishing males from females is generally difficult, although the characteristic black and yellow pattern is bolder on the males and duller on the females.

The “Great Tit" is present in Pelion throughout the year, breeding and wintering in woods, orchards, hedgerows and gardens. It feeds on Lepidoptera (i.e. butterflies and moths) and Coleoptera (i.e. beetles), as well as on significant amounts of seeds and fruit during the winter.

Merci

Nice scenario of these Great Tits Kirsten. It is really amusing to feed the birds during the winter time - one get a lot of good times watching them from the window. Nice note.

It could have been good to get a bit more colors and contrast, focus is a bit shot.
TFS.

Kirsten, exams are important and you have the rest of your life to post pictures, no need to be sorry.
My experience with the S5000 (and based on the numerous critiques I've had from this site), is that unless you have the bird filling about 50% of the view finder you probably won't get a good shot. That doesn't mean you should stop trying, its just that the Fuji lens doesn't equal a Cannon, Nikon, or Sigma. So unless your up close to the subject at full zoom, the result can be dissapointing. There is nothing really wrong with your shot, it just the limitation of the camera, something you will just have to put up with like I do. The S5000 can still produce some good images, you just need to get a lot of things right at the same time and do a bit of post-processing.
You keep on trying and keep on posting, I have learnt an incredible amount from this site and you will to. Merry Christmas, Chris.

I love all the Vertical lines in this photo Kirsten. Nice crisp, clear photo. Great composition and framing.

En van de pimpelmees naar de koolmees, brutaal en altijd vrolijk, wel een volle foto, hoor !
