The Cucumber green spider (Araniella cucurbitina) is a spider of the Araneidae family. Females grow up to 8 mm, males only up to 5 mm. The spider is mainly found on forest clearings, where it weaves its web between leaves and flowers. These webs are only about 10 cm in diameter.

This spider does not use a hideout, because it is camouflaged by its green color. Adult spiders first show this color in spring. Freshly hatched spiderlings are red and change to brown until fall. On the end of the abdomen there is a red mark in adults. (Wikipedia)

--------------------------------------------------------

(Wikipedia)

Very good details & use of the natural light.
Well done.

Nice macro chot, Catherine. Good details and a beautiful compo. Congratulations and TFS.

Greetings from Brazil,
Bruno

The green colour of this spider's abdomen is so very different from the colour of the rest of its body, Catherine.
The macro of the subject is very sharp with fine details on every part.
The colours look very natural and close to the original.
Well done and TFS.

Hello Catherine,
this is an excellent and sharp picture of the small spider.
I accumulated numerous pictures of this species but none of them achieved this quality.
Light and exposure are well balanced.
Composition is also attractive!
Best wishes, Peter

Hi Catherine,
a veryexcellent sharpness of the spider. The white petal enhances its beauy and the combination of green makes it so exciting.

Hi Catherine.
I am impressed with your close-up work a lot. Great POV, tremendous details and nice exposure of the image. However, the key point of the picture is its subject ¬ wonderful white petals and cute visitor. Framing of the scene is awesome. Bravo.
Alexei.

A beautifully formed, tiny specimen caught from the best possible vantage point Catherine, the whole in sharp focus, thanks to the relatively deeper DOF provided by that f/14.0. TFS this fine image my friend.
Cheers,
Mehmet
