Hi Catherine. This is a very fine close up of the Hover fly , which you have captured with fine detail and sharp focusing. Rich colours but still very natural and good use of the light. well done TFS.

Hello Catherine,
Nice one of S. scripta on Ragwort. You caught the 'tail-up' pose sharply and well from a fine POV as it digs into the flower.
We heard on the Swedish news that Ragwort is now invading Sweden and horse owners have been warned that it is very poisonous!

Hello Cahterine. Excellent shot of this hoverfly digging on the stamen. The vivid sharp detail of the shot is a reflection of how you have handled the camera well. I like the warm color with pleasing shallow depth in muting the background rather well. Thanks for sharing and best regards. Jusni

Your photo has a wonderfull light! I am impressed by the richness of color tones from your photo. Image sharpness is very good so that even tiny details, like that drop of water from the petal, can be seen. Insect can be seen clearly as you have a very well addapted DOF.

Les syrphes sont des insectes bien intéressants et photogéniques! Tu nous proposes ici un joli petit tableau ensoleillé, bien composé et aux couleurs estivales. Il est vrai que sur cette image le petit syrphe rappelle un porte-plume, cela nous ramène à notre enfance..

Great shot of this male hoverfly on the ragwort. You know I didn't know there was such differences in the sexes, I'll have to have a closer look at our hoverflies when summer comes around.
