These little crab spider, well camouflaged (under a Knautia arvensis), is a great predator, including for big prey like this Marbled White.

Melanargia galathea (Linnaeus, 1758)
Family: Nymphalidae

The Marbled White is a butterfly found across most of Europe (not Scandinavia), north Africa, and as far east as Iran. Like other members of its subfamily, the larvae feed on various grasses.

Misumena vatia (Clerck, 1757)
Family: Thomisidae
This species of crab spider may be yellow or white, depending on the flower in which they are hunting.

Hi Catherine. This is a very good picture of what happens in nature we all have to eat. Not a good day for the Butterfly. You have taken this with sharp focusing and fine detail . Your use of the light has given warm natural colours. A nice pose on the pink flower. Well done TFS.

Perfect omposition also beautiful species. light is soft from left side that are visible hear on its wings. If the dark part of body was more bright then view would be better.
