[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Une variété que j'ai trouvé aujourd'hui.
Il est petit , j'ai dus le faire au maximum.
Sino ils y a encore des colias, des painted lady et des grands blanc, plus de trace de Machaon.
The butterflies in the fifth picture were photographed in autumn in the UK, on the flowers of ragwort. The lower one is very clearly 'caerulopunctata' - in other words, it has a row of blue spots on the dark of the hindwing, just before the submarginal orange band. The upper insect is tattier, but also shows these spots. On the East Suffolk coast this form can be quite common. It is always worth checking and interesting to know roughly the frequency of caerulopunctata. In the south of Europe, and especially in hot summers and second (or third) broods, a form with the copper of the forewing more or less suffused with darker brown is worth looking out for.

Merci John pour ce joli Cuivré! Je ne l'ai pas vu aujourd'hui, alors j'aurai au moins vu le tien...;-) On arrive tout doucement à la fin de la saison... J'ai vu aujourd'hui (au Jardin botanique où il y a quand même beaucoup de fleurs) un Colias très farouche, un grand nombre de paon du jour et de belle-dame sur des Budleia ou des Aster, quelques pierides et quelques Argus bleus. Ce fut un bel été pour les papillons... et pour nous! Amicalement,
