The Yellow-red Gill Polypore or Rusty Gilled Polypore or Conifer Mazegill is a wood decay common fungus. It grows in thin, dark brown/green brackets on dead coniferous wood. It can be solitary of grouped. The caps are 2.5 to 10cm wide. The upper surface is bright yellowish-red to reddish-brown or brown with a white to yellow to orange growing margin; hairy to almost smooth; zonate.
It is inedible.

Hi Catherine. This fungi has got amazing colours. The dark brown and the bright orange go together so well. You have used the light to give a bright picture. Showing the fungi with good detail . Well seen and taken TFS.

A finely focused fungus scene with rich, saturated colours Catherine, I think a slight cropping from above might improve the composition.

Salut Catherine,dans le petit preview j'avais eu la sensation de voir une etrange Vanessa Atalanta..eheh..les memes couleurs du papillon mais..surprise..ils sont des fungi..oooh..mais quelle merveille,jamais vus et avec des dessins et couleurs magnfiques! Great fungi image Catherine!!
The detail is very sharp and the DOF is great. Gorgeous natural colors with just the right amount of exposure.
When I first viewed your thumbnail image I thought it was some kind of butterfly.
