Arctophila bombiformis (Fallén, 1810)
Family: Syrphidae

Looking in my archives, I found this hoverfly, which looks like a bumblebee. It seems that it is the first post of this hoverfly on TrekNature. And I discover it is also a quite rare species in Belgium and in some European countries.

This is a new hoverfly to add to my collection of Hoverflies of Belgium...

Hi Catherine,
that's what I like with your TN collection: you come up with real surprises from time to time, you are interested in entomology without neglecting the artistic side of photography. This Arctophila is a good example. Thanks Catherine for your contributions.
Best regards
Dietrich
