[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note [French]
The Chambered Nautilus (Nautilus pompilius) is the best known species of nautilus. The shell, when cut away as in the photograph below, reveals a lining of lustrous nacre, and displays a nearly perfect equiangular spiral. It has primitive eyes compared to other cephalopods, mostly due to the fact that they have no lens. Their eyes are comparable to a pinhole camera. It has about 90 tentacles and no suckers which is also different from other cephalopods. This nocturnal animal has a pair of rhinophores, which detect chemicals and uses olfaction and chemotaxis to find its food.

Hello Christophe,
this is really very interesting creature, not only because it was rather rarely presented on TN.
The quality of picture is not perfect (especially depth of field) but anyway brao for showing something new :)
Best greetings from Poland,
Radomir

Bonjour Christophe,

Hi Christophe, lovely composition with splendid colors and elegant presentation, a little out of focus, ciao Silvio

Hello Christophe,
a pleasure to see something so different here on TN. Beautiful colours and composition. It may be a little out of focus, but it can't be easy shooting through glass and water - well done!

Paul

WOW!
What a marvellous capture, Christophe!
I had never seen a picture of this curious and strange animal here in TN. Where did you take the shot? In an Aquarium?
It is rather sharp and with excellent POV, light and colors. The composition and presentation are great!
I love it!
Congratulations and thank you very much for sharing.
Best wishes
Maite

Bonjour,
