this is a nice specimen of
- Pararge aegeria
- Nymphalidae / Satyrinae
Presentation of its wing colours and surface structures is admirable, very sharp and natural.
The 'nose' are the so called palpi which are not an organ for the sense of smell.

Very nice close capture of a Speckled Wood, showing the underside of the wings. The butterfly practically fills the image and it is sharp and shows excellent detail.

Hello Caroline,

This macro photograph is perfect! The details are amazing and beautiful and the DOF very well controlled. There is no sharpness fall of on the butterfly and the background is perfectly blurred. The composition is also very good and the empty space was distributed correctly. I would have preferred a natural support for the butterfly but this is no mistake. This is a high quality picture Caroline. Great Job! Thank you!
