Hello everybody
I have just come back from three weeks trip to Belgium. I went there to work, but fortunately I had some free time so I was able to visit some interesting places in that country.
And today the result of one of my small trips.
I want to dedicate this picure to Ram Thakur who encouraged me to post new pictures - thanks a lot!

Grotte de Han is a cave that is situated in Ardenne mountains in southern Belgium. This is one of the two longest caves in Belgium (the second one is situated few km from Han in the vicinity of Rochefort village). This cave is a result of the erosion made by river Lesse. This rivers goes underground for some 1100 m but it takes the water some 20 hours to pass this way!
The diversity and richness of stalactites, stalagmites and other forms are amazing.
The cave was for the first time explored in 1771 but the expedition discovered only a short distance close to one of the entrances. By 1860, the cave was being more extensively explored, and public tours were offered by using lighted torches. In the early 1900s, electricity was added to the cave. Now the visit in the cave lasts 1,5 hours and you walk a distance of 3 km and I strongly recommend you to visit this place when you have the posibillity (especially if you are not in the highest turistic season).

What concerns the photograph. I have used neither flash nor tripod, so the quality of the picture is not perfect. Post processing included cropping, adding light, resizing and sharpening.

Thanks for your attention
Ania

Hi Ania.
Wonderful "underground" shot of nice nature phenomenon. Despite the specific light you managed to create a very colourful, extremely sharp and perfectly composed image. I also like touching dedication to our dear friend Ram. My compliments and all the best.
Alexei.

Hi Ania,
A beautiful capture of this cave and a nice dedication for Mr. Ram. He would surely like it. Excellent composition and lighting. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Hi Ania,
fascinating shot, i like the colour of the lighting and your POV. The texture of the rocks is amazing. It's not easy taking phtographs inside show caves that look natural, but i think this works really well.
Cheers
Paul

Hello Ania,
I feel very guilty that I did not notice your dedication of this wonderful picture to me. Hope you will forgive me for the lapse. I am a busy old man still doing a demanding job and miss out a lot of good things happening on TN.
You would not believe me but this morning while I was editing another of my raw Hoverfly images, I felt that this picture had the kind of aesthetic qualities that I attributed to your work as an outcome of your fine feminine aesthetic sensibilities after looking at some of your recent posts.
I therefore decided to dedicate that picture to you today and as a follow up on it, I went to your portfolio and had another look at your pictures. It was while doing so that I came across your dedication of this fine picture to me. Some kind of strage telepathy seemed to be at work here, otherwise I could have missed your picture for ever!
In a couple of hours, my new picture of a Hoverfly will be uploaded and posted as a dedication to you, Ania. I hope it would not diasappoint you.

Coming to your picture of the underground cave picture you took in Belgium, it is a fantastic capture showing geological formations that seem as if handcrafted by a gifted sculptor. Come to think of it, what better sculptor than Mother Nature herself?
Despite the fact that you neither used flashlight not tripod, the image has turned out to be very impressive in terms of colours, contrasts and minute details on this column like formation inside the cave.
Thanks again for your kind gesture towards me and with warm regrds,
Ram
