[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I was following the danse of this nice damselflies over a little pond with my camera. A couple like this one went on the pond and the male was flying, catching the female on her neck when she deposed the eggs under the water. Suddenly coming from the shadow, a green frog jump and eat the couple. Unfortunetely, I was not so fast to catch the scene. You can see this hungry frog on the WS.

The Large Red Damselfly (Pyrrhosoma nymphula) is a European damselfly. It is one of the most common damselflies, often the first to emerge, usually in April or May.
It inhabits ponds and dykes, and occasionally slow-moving rivers. (Wikipedia)

Je suivais avec mon appareil photo la danse de ces jolies demoiselles sur une petite mare. Un couple comme celui-ci est venu sur la mare, le male volait sur place tenant la femelle au cou, pendant qu'elle déposait ses oeufs sous la surface de l'eau. Soudain, une grenouille verte a surgit depuis l'ombre et a mangé le couple. Je n'ai malheureusement pas été assez rapide pour prendre la scène. Mais vous pouvez voir la grenouille affamée dans le WS.

La petite nymphe au corps de feu ou Agrion au corps de feu (Pyrrhosoma nymphula) est une demoiselle européenne commune. C’est l’une des premières à apparaître au printemps, en avril ou mai.
Elle vit autour des étangs et mares, occasionnellement près des rivières au cours lent.

Bonsoir Catherine,

Très belle capture de ce couple de demoiselle. J'aime beaucoup la composition. Très bonnes netteté et couleurs. Avec la pluie que l'on a ce soir, je ne sais pas si il sera possible d'aller les chasser photographiquement demain.

This is a very well focused picture of these mating (almost)damselflies. Well focused with excellent details on the damselflies. A well blurred background to set them off. Colours look very natural and vivid. You did almost everything right and though I wish you had turned your camera just a little to the right so the space infront of the damselflies was larger that the space behind.

apart from that little nit it is indeed a very good picture.

je dirait juste bravo!!!
c'est petite demoiselle ne se laisse pas souvent approcher,bon là il est vrai qu'elles sembles tres occupées et que le sigma permet de rester a bonne distance tout en obtenant de tres bon resultats.

it is nice Catherina,
the pov is good the quality can be done better and the dof is good. I have also this lens and a tip to you is the experiment I did made with this lens with the 58mm close up lens 500d from canon. you can put it fore the 70- 300 and the result is very nice from thes two together. I would say look to my archive and look to a few shots I took with it, farther good photojob, have a nice weekend.

Hi Catherine. Well she laid her eggs thats one thing. I like the DOF in the one. good detail and colours. You have been able to keep the Damseliflies and the grass in focus. well done tFS.
