Ugly perhaps ? Well I am not sure, it is for you to decide.
A scathophagidae diptera, not sure excatly which species. Those flies,AKA Dung Flies, visit flowers and cow-pats for nutritious liquids, but they are also active predators, sucking the juices out of other small insects.
This one sits on a piece of glass which covers a light- trap I use to observe moths and other nocturnal insects |
