| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
When I was working today, I found a red clover plant that has some leaves with 4 leaflets. The clover plants usually have 3 leaflets. When I was child, I was always looking for this kind of abnormalities.
People are saying that, if you find a clover leaf with 4 leaflets, means luck; so I wish to all TN members very very good luck in everything;
I know that it is not a beautiful leaf, but almost all were attacked by a fungus;
This abnormality occurs in nature, some time with a high frequency, some are rare; genetically, this are due to mutations in the DNA. What are mutations? A Mutation occurs when a DNA gene is damaged or changed in such a way as to alter the genetic message carried by that gene. This character, 4 leaflets in a clover leaf, could be a mutation...I don't know yet which kind of mutation it is, but i hope that i will find; |

Buna Oana,
Originala ideie ai avut sa postezi trifoiul cu patru foi. Sunt sigur ca norocul iti apartine si in acelas timp poti bucura si alti oameni. Imi place senzatia de tridimensionalitate data de fundalul neclar.
TFS si sa te bucuri de noroc cat mai repede,
Cristian
P.S. Zambaretul maine!
As a child my mother could pick tyhese out from 100 feet away...Or at least it seemed that way.....a very interesting image. I am surprised it has not been brought up before...My 4 leaf's came in the white clover variety. and here..you have imaged the leaves very well. I am certain I have never been as close in my life:-)

Bonjour Oana,
Merci pour tes souhaits, et félicitation pour cette originale présentation.
A bientôt sur TN pour de nouvelles aventures.
Gérard
Oana,
You are wrong when you said that this is not a "....I know that it is not a beautiful leaf,...." beautiful leaf. IT IS BEAUTIFUL. In fact your presentation is PERFECT.
Love your notes clearly explaining "mutation".
On the 19th. September 2006 I too had posted this LEAF. But, your image has PERFECT CLARITY & focusing.
Warm regards from Canada from,
Mario.
