[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This tiny leafhopper was in a pond, walking on water and flapping its wings for all it had. Not sure whether it was trying to take off and being sucked back by surface tension, or if it was some other type of behavior.
Anyway, it belongs to the family Delphacidae and I think it is likely Stenocranus minutus. Its size is approx 2.5 mm.
First time I get to see so much detail on the wing of a live homopteran.

Bonjour Philippe,
Voilà une céature singulière et au comportement mysterieux!
Toujours intéressant de voir des insectes plutôt rares sur ce site.
Des ailes rappellant des décors de l'Art Nouveau.
Un grand merci
Anne

Hi Philippe,
really very unusual sight, this tiny leafhopper lifting its wings. That's what I like with your pictures: not only are they entomologically interesting but photography is good too. Bravo! The ID seems OK to me (->Remane+Wachmann1993)
Best regards

Hello Philippe,
You had a 'captive' subject,so to speak ;)
I recently captured an Aphid struggling next to a tiny drop of water. It was being held down by the weight of the water on one antenna and a leg!
I was so fascinated tht I filmed it and put it on You Tube.
This is a great capture of the leaf hopper in a simliar predicament.
Great documentation.
TFS & cheers,
Steve
