[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A Zebra Jumping Spider, Salticus scenicus has captured a small dipteran.
It was peacefully running along a bannister with its prey, when I started to interfere with my camera.
And you can tell the spider didn't find it funny at all and tried to stare me off. It succeeded only after I had shot a dozen pictures.
The spider is approx 4 mm long.

Hi Philippe,
A good capture of this little hunting spider with what looks like a small cranefly or mosquito.
Good focus on the eyes.
Its hard to photgraph these well because they are so tiny, but this has come out ok.
Cheers & TFS
Steve

An amazing macro of this small Jumping Spider, Philippe.
The eyes of these spiders are one of their best features and you have done a masterly job of capturing them.
The stare of the fellow is truly mesmerizing.
Thanks for sharing this gem of an image.
Regards.
Ram

Philippe, Looks like car head light and what a close view. Very fine shot with lovely details. Ganesh

Hi Philippe,

Cool shot!
These spiders are common, but to catch one in the middle of meal. Very nice.
Yes, I like his stare. It reminded of a Sergio Leone western.
What a facscinating creature with it's four eyes (or maybe there are more?!) and hairy segmented legs.
Nice colors and nice sharpness in the face area. I have never used a macro lens. Is the blurring a feature of the lens or was that added afterwards?

Jason
