Hi Kirsten and welcome to TN hope. As mentioned by Paul (PDP) great picture and very good note. I think I would have liked the frame as it is but without the red. If you look at some of PDP's pictures there are some really great shots there and he is spot on, on the advice so I am sure we will see some great pics from you, keep it up.
Demetrio :-))
Hi Kirsten, welcome to TN. You've done a great job on your first post. You have given us a very nice picture backed up with a good note. Thank you.
The fungi is very well seen adn good detail. I would have been tempted to use a larger DOF as 2.8 is fairly minimal for such a close up. The colours are great, I like it. I'm not over keen on the frame but that is personal taste.
Opps, I'm out of points, 2 points tomorrow.
PS I've just read your profile. Are you related to Leon?
Verder doen alvast 2 punten.
Very nice Kirsten.
Good colors and good details.
Paul is right about the f-number.
Well done.
Welcome to TN.
Bienvenida a TN Kirsten.
Bonita primera presentacion con este hongo tan colorido y llamativo.
Coincido con las opiniones anteriores sobre el DOF utilizado en este caso.
Bonito disparo.
Welcome to TN Kirsten.
Pretty first presentation with this so colorful and showy fungus.
I agree with the previous opinions on the DOF used in this case.
Nice shot.
A hearty welcome to TN, Young Lady, hope you enjoy your stay and post some more nice stuff. This is a beautiful fearie-house with a ninteresting POV. I agree with Paul on the frame!

All fungi lovers welcome to TN.
Fantastic Muscaria, it looks irreal, too perfect.
Nice first post. You have already heard about the DOF.
I would have tricked taking the grass out of the way :)
Thanks for posting.
Nice photo of a very attractive and colourful mushroom.
Did you leave the blade of dried grass on top of it for a reason?

This is a very good presentation which is well supported by your note. The frame is nice, but personally I try not to use a fancy frame because they tend to distract you from a good image (like your image here). I use frames as border that says "The image stops here!"
Your colors and exposure is great. Thanks for posting this beauty and I hope to see lots more of you.

Kirsten, I like the colors here. I also liked your note, and it's easy to notice your debut here was great.

Very good shot. Tre red in there is very amazing.
It looks like the mushroom in
« Tintin au Tibet » :)
Well done. *

I missed that one, Kirsten! You've catched the essence of this beautiful piece by presenting it in a close up framing, even if, IMO, a larger view could also bring another dimension by creating a contrast with the ambient nature. Beautiful colors, very well monitored fill-in light, even on bright surfaces. Great sharpness where the texture appears clearly.

Wow the red on this is almost startling it's so bright! My daughter needs this photo for her new red kitchen. So sharp and clear on the mushroom. This photo certainly gets ones attention, nice framing too! Well done.
