| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| Regarding what I found on the web I think this might be "Coprinus comatus" but I'm not sure at all. I only found this one other picture on TN. Growing in the garden of my parents in law. I let it the way it was and did not cut it to examine it upside down. |

It is Coprinus comatus for sure. You did a great job noticing the lonely cap raising above the grasses.

This mushroom is a "coprin"... when it grows older, it turns black and produces some kind of black ink.
Coprins are comestible. If you have a couple of them in your garden, you can cut them as long as they are young and cook them directly in a pan with garlic (You need a decent amount though, they shrink a lot in the pan). The result is pretty good indeed !

Bonjour Jean Loup, cette macro de Coprin est super, la texture du champignon et sa couleur sont bien reussies et les herbes floues autour donne du relief à cette photo. Mes félicitations, Didier.
