[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Picture took yesterday morning in my garden!

Hope you'll enjoy!

Bellis perennis is a common European species of Daisy, often considered the archetypal species of that name, though many other related plants share the name; to distinguish it from other daisies, it is sometimes qualified as Common Daisy, Lawn Daisy or occasionally English daisy. It is native to western, central and northern Europe. The species is widely naturalized in North America, where it is considered an invasive weed.

It is a herbaceous plant with short creeping rhizomes and small rounded or spoon-shaped evergreen leaves 2–5 cm long, grows close to ground. The flowerheads are 2–3 cm in diameter, with white ray florets (often tipped red) and yellow disc florets; they are produced on leafless stems 2–10 cm (rarely 15 cm) tall. The lawn daisy is a dicot.

Name
It is thought that the name "daisy" is a corruption of "day's eye", because the whole head closes at night and opens in the morning. Chaucer called it "eye of the day".

Daisy is also a common girl's name and is a nickname for girls named Margaret.

Uses
It is not affected by mowing and is therefore often considered a weed on lawns, though many also value the appearance of the flowers. Several cultivars and hybrids have been selected with much larger flowerheads up to 5–6 cm diameter and with light pink to purple-red ray florets.

Bellis perennis has astringent properties and has been used in folk medicine.

Green leaves are edible, consume moderatly.

Scientific classification
Kingdom: Plantae
Division: Magnoliophyta
Class: Magnoliopsida
Order: Asterales
Family: Asteraceae
Genus: Bellis
Species: B. perennis

Hi Ena, lovely capture with excelent details. TFS. Regards, Nazım

A good composition of this daisy Ena, you've exposed the white florets succesfully, so no overexp. is evident, the perpendicular POV to the flower head made focusing of it easy, while a shallow DOF blurred the near BG. Good job my friend.
Cheers,
Mehmet

Nice clean and well focused image of perennis...good DOF and good cropping...TFS

Hello Ena,

Nice composition. Good focus and exposure. Very nice colours.

Hi Ena,

I do like Daisys and thay are greatly under-photographed flower. You have captured a great level of detail and I do like the off-centre composition, which gives some information on the plant as a whole. Nice shot and a good posting.

Hello Ena,

Good composition of the Daisy (Madelief) called in the Netherlands.
Sharpness and colour is good, maybe a little overexposed (lost detail in the white).

Regards Gert

Hello Ena,
Lovely capture of this little Daisy!! The sharp details and colours are so beautiful and you've managed the whites very well. I don't recognise the leaves in the background but they set it off beautifully!

Ciao Ena,non scrivere che l'hai fatta nel tuo giardino altrimenti dicono che e' un fiore coltivato e ti squalificano..eheheh..complimenti per la gestione del bianco e del giallo, ottimo lavoro,Luciano.

Hi Ena,

An excellent composition, the green foliage in the background hs just enough detail to be interesting without distracting, sets off the white flower very nicely. There is a very slight loss of detail in the petals at the bottom of the flower, but not too bad, just a touch on the soft side too. I think a tripod might have helped with sharpness.

Overall, a very nice image.

Thanks,
John

I like most everything about this photograph. Sharpness and technical quality are exceptional. Exposure is just right and the composition adds a lot of viewer interest for someone like me. :)

I gotta work harder on my pictures to match yours. Your pictures are very, very good!

Hi Ena,
Nice macro of this wonderful little flower - it's common here, too, even in city parks and gardens. Great off-centered composition, good exposure. A frame (thin inner white - thick outer black) would make the image even more elegant, but it's personal.
Tfs, have a nice weekend, greetings from Hungary, László
