Hello Ena,
The sharpness and details that you captured in this endemic iris flower are great and the composition with the sedges in the FG is very nice. If you could have avoided the distant yellow Flower behind the iris this image would have been even better, but as it is this is pretty good and maybe a first of this species on TN.

I think it is an endemic Iris from Bosna-Hersek. Although I am a zoologist, I like very much monocotyledon plants such as Iridaceae, Orcidaceae and their photography. This is very beautiful species. Its shot already great. Sharp focus, nice details, ligting and composition. Splendid coloration. TFS, well done

Because of harsh sunlight, some parts of the yellow flower are highly over exposed. I have tried to correct this in a WS, though not very successfully. Please see and comment.

Great color and background in this image. The soft BG focus is just right.

Taking outdoor pictures in bright sunlight is always difficult. Cameras are incapable of capturing the full dynamic range under those conditions. I know, I've taken zillions of pictures with that problem. :)

Under bright sunlight I'd recommend using a polarizer and/or neutral density filter to try to reduce the dynamic range so that you can retain more detail in the bright reflections off the petals.

Hi Ena,

The Iris petals look so delicate and almost translucent. I love the low pov and the colours all work so well together. It also reminds me that spring follows winter, and I can't wait for some sunshine!

As a student of biology, you have captured this pretty flower very efficiently, Ena.
At shutter speed 800, you have got crisp details and colours on the flower.
I guess there was bright sunshine in May, but you got your camera settings perfectly right here.
