I had a strange obseravtion last summer - I saw a flock of white storks (ciconia ciconia), freely and bravely roaming around in a stubble-field, that had been set to fire.
It looked very grotesque and mystic - as if the storks were performing a strange ancient ritual, a fire-dance...
In view of this, the spread wings should be considered a part of the sacred ceremonial rite maybe :) |
