Endotricha flammealis - Rose-flounced Tabby
Family: Pyralidae

This little known moth is abundant in most parts of Europe. It is really small - the wingspan is only some 20mm.The species flies during summer nights. Its larva feeds on various plants, including Agrimonia eupatoria, Lotus spp., Quercus spp., Salix spp. and Vaccinium myrtillus.

Usually the species is brown with only small margings of rose colour on hind wings. This indvidual was unusually coloured and also in a very strange pose.

To me it looked almost as it was prasing the sunset as it was exactly that time of a day :-)

This one looks like ballerina :-) Beutifull creature, great colours and pose. Very bright and saturated wings colours as for moth. Strange but great looking ;-)

A very interesting pose by your subject. I like the angle of this looking down the leaf. The flash exposure look really good. The colors are well satureated, and detail looks great.

Nice capture of this pyralid moth!
The pose is quite typical for many species of them. I remember shooting an Agrotera nemoralis which was even more curved.

Maybe I am wrong, but by any chance, could this be a female butterfly adopting this strange pose to better emit its bouquet of pheromones to attract a partner ?
But you are right, looks much like an old inka priest, with its red feathered outfit, praising the red moving goddess.
