Again a thistle and an insect - as in my previous two photios. But please do not get fed up (for sure you won't, will you?). This time the thistle is different (thanks to the numerous kinds of thistles) and the rider of the thorny flower this time is a beetle.
Beetle: Cetonia aurata (known as rose chafer, goldsmith beetle, leaf chafer or golden fly). It makes laborious movements amongst vegetation, and is capable of flight. It is a very common insect in some areas, usually seen between May and June/July, occasionally to September, and usually in sunny weather. They feed on foliage, buds, flowers and the fruits of blackberry, raspberry, strawberry, cabbage, beans, beet and pepper plants - this time on thistle. |

Hi Anton,
Cetonias are very versatile! Now you find one in a thistle! Good details and color.

Hi Anton, This is an exquisite capture of this beetle delicately balanced like that. Excellent sharpness and the gree carapace is wonderful. Murray.
PS My goal is to take something as sharp as this in the future.
