[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This beauty is called Nemoptera sinuata belonging to family Nemopteridae of Neuroptera. The members of this family are usually small bodied creatures with a forewing relaitvely large in surface and a hindwing wich became a long narrow tail through the course of evolution. Their larvae are predators, the imagos fly in the warm sunny daytime and visit white and yellow flowers. Only five species of the family live in Europe, all in the mediterranian region.
Nemoptera sinuata flies in the dry, evergreen shrubby biotopes of the Balcan penninsula.

I used selective noise filter and sharpening on this photo.

Hello Gergely,
What a fantastic contribution to TN. I have never seen any nemopterid before, let alone this species.
Your shot is sharp and well composed with suitable BG.
Well done and TFS!

Hello Gergely,
WOW!! I'd love to see this fantastic insect!!
Until I do, I really admire your brilliant shot showing great detail and natural colours. It stands out very nicely from the background too. Excellent composition!
Many thanks, Ulla

Szia Greg and a belated welcome to TN :)

This is a fantastic capture!
I've always wanted to see and capture something like this but never really managed to, so in return i congratulate you for it!
This is a wonderful macro that shows exactly just how beautiful and delicate this insect is.
I really like the excellent sharpness of the details here and the very good depth of field which isolated your subject very nicely from the BG.
Also the colors are charming, the contrast is great and the exposure is pretty well managed.
The point of view is terrific and it gives you an exceptional angle for this little beauty and the vertical composition works lovely.
All-in-all a superb post!

Bravo and Thanks For Sharing
Horia

PS1: hope you don't mind me adding a workshop...i just wanted to see if this great photo can look a bit better.

Very good capture Gergely showing this exotic marvel of the nature.

I like it a lot: composition, POV, DOF, focus, sharpness, color, lighting, background, framing and improving of Horia's Workshop.

I like it: notes.

I don't like it: nothing to grumble.

Nice macro with perfect point of view to depict to the insect in all their splendor.
Thank you and a cordial greeting from Buenos Aires... Ricardo
