These little creatures are famous for the annoying (to some people) sound they make.
Cicadas live in large swarms and that's why their singing can be heard from very long distances or, when they're very close make your head expolode! Personally, I like their company (maybe because this particular species isn't that loud)
My first encounter with them was...in fact there wasn't any encounter because these fellas are very difficult to spot.
They like spending their time on trees and thanks to their color they easily blend in with the bark.
But when I eventually found one, finding the rest was quite easy. |

Hello Rafal, this is a great macro of this Cicada. I have heard these guys a lot of course, but haven't seen one myself now for several years. This one looks large. You have great detail seen on this guy. Your depth of field is deeper than I would have expected with an aperture of f3.2. Very nice capture of this guy in his local habitat.
