| Plitivice Lakes National Park lies midway between Zagreb and Zadar. The park covers 19.5 hectares of wooded hills with 16 turquoise lakes which are linked by a series of waterfalls and cascades. There are 18km of wooden footbridges which take you across and over the cascading water - the sight and sound of so much water is amazing. In still water beside the paths through the forest you can see thousands of fish swimming in the beautifully clear water. (Factual information from Lonely Planet). |
