Hi Jiri,

this is a fantastic portrait, Jiri, of a blister beetle. You handled the composition, the light, the background , DOF to perfection. Postprocessing (sharpening) was also handled well. My congratulations to this post on TN.

As for the beetle,it must be Mylabris variabilis of the Meloidae family. There are two other similar species in the Mediterranean region (M. flexuosa, M. polymorpha) with slightly different banding patterns.

Focus and details are great. I love the color of the background enhancing the bug. Contrast is perfect and great lighting.
