[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Pomarine Skua, Stercorarius pomarinus

This species breeds in the far north of Eurasia and North America. It nests on arctic tundra and islands, laying 2-3 olive-brown eggs in grass lined depressions. Like other skuas, it will fly at the head of a human or other intruder approaching its nest. Although it cannot inflict serious damage, the experience is frightening and painful. It is a migrant, wintering at sea in the tropical oceans. It has many harsh chattering calls and others which sounds like which-yew.

Pretty shot... :-)

Hi Lenka,
'Cool' picture -- to borrow your own expression :-)!
I am intrigued to note that the pebbles on the shore and the bird share similar colours.
You have also placed the bird thoughtfully between the strip of pebbles and the waves. Makes a great composition.
Thanks for sharing the image, and don't touch its nest!

Hello Lenka good focusing and nice dof good Low POV sharp and composed fine tfs rgds Necip.

Hi Lenka,
A nice shot on this Pomarine Skua. You handled the low light well. Nice subtle colors and good detail I like the colorful rocks and surf in the scene.

Hi Lenka,
it's a very interesting shot here. Not only because it's a Skua not often seen but the problematic position of inactivity of the bird is shrewdly compensated by an active approaching wave! You caught it in the right split-second, otherwise the picture might have been boring. Well done.
My best regards,
Dietrich

Hello again Lenka,
This is very interesting as I didn't know this bird that looks a bit like a seagull. I would not like to disturb it... This is a nice capture with good composition, details and nice movement of the water. The only thing missing here is a little light in its eye ;) Well done with interesting notes. Thanks,
Claudine

Ahoj Lenka.
To je pěkný obrázek této chaluhy velké.Dobré detaily a hezké přírodní barvy.Líbí se mi nízký POV a ta vlnka v pozadí působí velmi dobře.
Hezký den,Miloš

Hi Lenka,
Nice composition in natural setting. Waves are perfect background for this picture. This Pomarine Skua is perfectly blend in with surrounding pebbles. Very well done and tfs.
