If you know the name of the mushroom and/or berry let me know and I'll change the title. I took this in the forests around Marinshke Lazne in Bohemia. I thought the mushroom and berry combo was nice sinde it was growing out of the vertical trunk of the tree and the berry was growning right next to it.

Nice shot. The mushroom is very nice and the composition rather good.

IMHO the berry is a bit distracting. I think the shot just with the mushroom would be better. I did a workshop, please let me know what you think.

Hi Thomas,
Nice shot. I like the combination of the mushroom and berry, not something you see every day.
Great sharpness.
DOF works well to show your 2 subjects with out distraction.
Good control of light.
:)

Nice composition and colours, Thomas. The DOF could be wider but still it's a great shot. Visit my PF sometime. Greetings. Michal

Excellent photo Thomas. I like pictures from microcosmoses. Nice details, colours, surface of fungus. Perfect composition with colorfull berry as a bonus.

Hi Thomas,
identify fungus only by photo is often very difficult.
I'm sure about genus, your specimen belongs to the genus Gymnopilus Karsten 1879, but I can't be sure about exact identification. To identify these kind of fungi we often need of microscopic analysis.
When I have time I'll consult my bibliography, then I'll tell you something more (I hope).

Beautiful subjects, lights, colours and composition. Very well done.
I feel the image needs to be rotated clockwise maybe 20º. For the rest a very nice post.

Beautiful!!! I think sometimes low-light photos like this can be so real. Oftentimes when we're in the woods, the light really is dark. In the middle of the day even, certain areas of the woods can be incredibly dark! And although they are usually harder to shoot, they are also my favorite places to shoot. I love the mushroom, and the berry is beautiful (it actually looks out of place, but it's so pretty!), but the moss is my favorite. The low light, DOF, and colors make this photo a great one. Nice shooting!
