[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This alone Grey Heron (Ardea cinerea) is waiting for Spring. Although calendar Spring started, in my small town (altitude 450 m) winter reigns still. Snow layer is about 60 cm, morning temperature was -10°C today. On the top of Jizerské Mts. (altitude about 1100m) 250 cm of snow is now.
This one Heron lives in our town more years (also during winter), the bird species is my region very rare – suitable conditions aren´t here.

Jan, I empathize with this lonely heron which, I guess, you had posted earlier too. There is some infinite kind of sadness about him but it is not depressing. Reminds me of Shelley's line: "If winter comes, can spring be far behind?"
Lovely picture. TFS.

A very interesting capture, Jan. The grey heron is dwarfed by the bank of snow and looks forlornly at the slowly moving river. The exposure on the whites is excellent, as I can almost feel the texture of the snow.
A great angle and composition. TFS. : )

Hi Jan

Well done on a great shot. Everything here looks technically good. You have composed it well, with good light and natural colours. A valuable contribution to the site. :-)
