Martina made this picture of Daucus carota on very hot summer day near Prague.
-------------------------------------------------------
Wild carrot, or Queen Anne's lace (Daucus carota) is a flowering plant in the family Apiaceae, native to temperate regions of Europe and southwest Asia; domesticated carrots are cultivars of this species as well.

It is a biennial plant growing up to 1 m tall, bearing an umbel of bright white flowers that turn into a "birds's nest" seed case after blooming. Very similar in appearance to the deadly poison hemlock, it is distinguished by a mix of bi-pinnate and tri-pinnate leaves, fine hairs on its stems and leaves, a root that smells like carrots, and occasionally a single dark red flower in its center.

Kingdom: Plantae
Division: Magnoliophyta
Class: Magnoliopsida
Order: Apiales
Family: Apiaceae
Genus: Daucus
Species: D. carota

Hi Tomas,
Great pov of this Wild carrot. The blue sky is a good background and the flower is really beautiful seeing from down.
Perphaps you need a little more dof to focus all the big flower, but still a good shot.
TFS, José M.

Hello,
I think this is quite exceptional shot because a subject quite uninteresting like a wild carrot somehow looks great. I think the deep blue BG works perfectly here and all these creatures hiding among flowers are a nice bonus!
Great job!

Hi Tomas !
This common flower looks very beautiful, from this POV. It is highlighted by a beautiful light and by a wonderful blue sky. Excellent details, colors and composition too. Very well done !
Valérie.
