The Black Darter or Black Meadowhawk is a dragonfly found in northern Europe, Asia, and North America.

At about 30 mm (1.2 in) long, it is Britain's smallest resident dragonfly. It is a very active late summer insect typical of heathland and moorland bog pools.

Hi Martin

You present us a superb picture with a high artistic effect. Indeed, the fabulous background with all these rounds is so well seen. The repetiton of the red colour of the plant as a blurred spot in the background is also very good. Moreover, the overall expression of the picture is very pleasant and it has the little indefinable extra that makes it an outstanding one.

i didn't saw something like this with a dragonfly till now. the bokeh is just spectacular.

This is superb dragonfly with superb BG captured.I like the bright circle on the right connected to the rear part of dragonfly.Nice setting and perfect light.Great artistic shot.TFS.
