[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Dear colleagues, today I shall give a new image from Punkva Caves. And because it is amazing what Mother Nature can create over thousands and thousands of years.

The History, discovery and opening-up of the Punkva Caves.

In the 19th century there was much scientific interest in the Punkva springs, its caves and its surroundings.
The Punkva caves consist of both wet and dry parts. The dry floors were discovered gradually between 1909 and 1914, while the watery part and its surrounding dry areas were uncovered between 1920 and 1933. In some parts discoveries are stil being made.
The total length of all corridors is 4 km with a denivelation, the difference in highest and lowest points of the system, of over 187m.
Dr. Jindrich Wankel from nerby Blansko tried to make his way up the Punkva stream to find some unexplored caves when there was a low level of water.
The first discvovered parts of the Punkva caves were lit and openend to the public as early as 1909.
In 1947 the visitors building was constructed and a new entrace to the caves was created and in 1955 the sightseeing route, with the installation of new lighting, was modernised.
The last reconstruction of the whole sigtseeing route and the building was made in 1996.
In 1956 Moravian Karst was declared a protected landscape area.

Noi salutari
Frumoasa lucrare a naturii, dar si cel ce a capturat imaginea
este un norocos ;)
Pentru un adevarat spectacol al imbinarii stalagmitelor cu cel al stalactitelor, recomand pestera Postojna din Slovenia.
Pana acum pt. mine este cea mai tare.

Really good quality for a shot in such low light. Cave is not easy to good photo off. Good details showing the texture of the rough surface of the cave. Very beautiful and warm colors, well managed light, we can see details even in dark area. Noise level is a little high but really not bad under this light condistion. Good work, Thanks.
