[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Well, someone complained about the amount of insects on TN, so here's a Wolf, Canis lupus.
The wolf is the ancestor of our tame dogs and the second largest carnivore, surpassed in size only by the brown bear. A wolf will grow to a length of - 1 - 1.5 meters + the tail measuring some 30-50 cm. A large male may grow to a height of 1 meter measured from the mane down, but the usual height is 75-80 cm. The weigth varies from 30 to 80 kg.
Once upon a time wolves were found all over Europe. That was back in the days when large stretches of wild woodland covered the entire continent. Today, the wolf has disappeared from most of Western and Southern Europe, but isolated populations may still be found in Spain, Portugal, Italy, Slovakia, Hungary, the former Yugoslavia and Bulgaria. Only in the Eastern part of Europe larger numbers may still be found.
Both Norway, Sweden and Finland still have small populations of wolves, but they are highly endangered.
In Denmark the last wolf was shot dead back in 1813.
On a worldwide scale the wolf population numbers around 100,000, and these may be found mainly in Canada, Alaska and the former Soviet Union.
Mogens and his neighbour were going on an outing to the Scandinavian Wildlife Park and invited me to come along, which I happily accepted. This park features only animals that may be found in the wild somewhere in Scandinavia; wolves, bears, deer etc, all of them in large enclosures, some of them in walk-through enclosures. Of wolves there are at present 7 grown-ups and 5 cubs of 10½ weeks in the park. This little chap looked as if he were already practicing to become alpha male like his father ;-))
Treatment: Crop, brightness +10, contrast +10, saturation +10, USM and resize.

Bente, What a lovely animal. So cute and cudly. I have a German Shepard/Timber Wolf crosbred as a pet. He is a wonderfull animal and looked alot like this lovely critted you captured. Nice note too, pity the numbers of lovely animals are declining all over the world. Who knows when it will stop. Thanx for sharing. I love wolves, post some more plse.

This looks like one cute doggie. A pleasing picture with a nice way of standing, showing off his attributes. POV is a bit high, but that is just a minor nit. Even a small highlight, well done

Awwwww, so cute. I love dogs. He has a classic dog stance. Very nice details and composition.

A great photo of this cute youngster, Bente, and I agree with your conclusion that he seems to be practicing some kind of posing here ;-) I like the details and colors we can see on his fur, and how he is embedded into this natural setting. Well done.

Very beautifull capture of this little fellow, it looks like it doesn't were to go, or searching something, very good clours and exposure.

A very nice capture.
He does look very strong and strikes a great pose for one so young.
Nice detail and good DoF,a great note too.

I like the position, the eyes and ears wide open to his environment. You've catched this little wolf very well.

This is such a lovely shot - and the funny thing is that on TE or TL I wouldn't have clicked on the thumbnail, thinking that this was just another shot of someone's dog. But being here - and the photographer being you - I knew it had to be a wolf, and was rewarded. And I didn't read the one about the insects, but I am afraid that I tend to agree. So, bring on the mammals in the mighty landscapes. TFS
