Dark Carabus arvensis

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| As always with ground beetles the challenges are to get sufficient depth of field and to control the light. Using flash one risks creating a lot of unwanted reflections on the dark surface of the beetle so I prefer to keep the animal in the deep shade and working with a tripod and cable release, hoping the beetle will stay still long enough to get the capture. The species is Carabus arvensis by the way. :-) |

Hi Lars,
These are indeed difficult to shoot but you've done a great job.
Good contrast and sharpness.
A good idea to keep the beetle in the shade and not use flash.
Good result.
Cheers & TFS
