A branch of Forsythia was brought in from the cold yesterday and today it started blooming - I just had to share this early sign of spring!
Forsythia, genus Forsythia, is any of several species of hardy, deciduous shrubs belonging to the olive family, Oleaceae. Forsythias are among the showiest of spring-flowering shrubs, producing brilliant yellow flowers in early spring before the leaves unfold. They are very adaptable plants and can grow in a variety of soils. The principal species are F. suspensa, which reaches heights of 2.4 m (8 ft) or more; F. intermedia, which has several varieties, including spectabilis, showy-border forsythia; F. viridissima, with bright-green stems; and F. ovata, a Korean species that is the hardiest and earliest to bloom. |

de belles couleurs pour cette photo,il aurait été bien d'avoir le bout de toutes les petales,a mon avis.

j'ai fait un atelier.
Very nice capture Carsten. The yellow flower works great with the clear blue background. Very clever handling of the light - especially on the white of the flower. Sharpness is nice and crispy and the DOF is just perfect as well as the composition. all over a very nice capture to look at. Nice note too.
Hello Karsten,
Pleasant composition, good DOF giving good details in the lighted centre part of the flower! Good colours all together, nice note!
Regards,
Pablo -
