Comments: According to some eastern European legends, this fungus appears on your gate or on the entrance to your house when you have been put under a spell by a witch! The only way to get rid of the hex is to prick the witch's butter with straight pins, which makes the inner juices of the fruiting body leak out, killing the fungus, thus allowing you to live your life witch-free once again.

NB! See a whole branch covered with the same fungus in WS.

Hi Tairi,
Thank you very much for a very good illustration of this species of fungus and for making the effort to produce a complementary WS version too! It's nice to be able to see this fungus in its environment, here sharing its habitat with the Hypogymnia physodes lichen. The effort you put into the note is also exemplary! A very valuable contribution altogether, bringing forward the best of what should be considered the true mission of TN,
With best regards,
Goran
