Hej Gert,
Great detailed and sharp shot of Silvertärnan. I like the pose and POV and the BG is very pleasing.
I had this species as a reserve from my archives but this shot is much better: i think you must have come quite close to it.

Hej Gert,
What a superb close shot of the Arctic Tern!! I really like the low POV you've used here and the pose is so lovely. The sharpness and colours are amazing! I like the grey soft background colour too.

Hi Gert.
Great archive. (To tell the truth I had no doubts.) Difficult set of colours of this charming bird: bright white and black. You managed to reproduce this colour palette excellently. Reflection of a paws and beak are shaking too. Thank you for this extreme and impressive close-up. My best wishes and TFS.

Hey Gert,
Fantastic close crop of this tern showing loads of detail. His feet look like they shouldn't be able to hold all that weight on top! Nice composition and BG is great (there is a smudge to the right, possibly dust or something similar?)
Whites seem well exposed. Nice work my freind,
Simon

Hi Gert
Hey...something is sticking out of its beak...Doesn't he know how to use a napkin? :o))))))))
A wonderful photo from your archives, my friend!
I really like the catchlight in its eye here most of all...you can actually see the sun (which seems to be closing in on the horizon).
The details with which you present this wonderful and interesting bird are razor-sharp and the colors and tones everywhere are charming.
The contrast is very nice and the composition simple but beautiful.
Bravo and TFS

Hi Gert,
Crystal clear capture on this one. Extremely nice close-up on this tern, The PP work is very nice except you forgot to get the noise between the legs, but still a great shot. :)

Hi Gert,
A really impressive close-up of this tern with super colours and sharpness! Will probably never get closer to a whole tern face to face than this! The background is stiking and harmoniously uniform throughout (so perfect that two faint "stains" to the right of the tip of the beak become visible). Thank you very much for this great Silver Tern portrait - yes it does look funny!
With best regards,
Goran

Great shot Gert, love the pose.
Brilliant sharpness and nice composition. I didn't realise the area under the black hood was whiter than the rest of the underside.
Great work

Hello Gert,
It seems you have a great archive if you're able to find pictures like this one! This is a wonderful close up of this beautiful and funny Arctic Tern with valuable technical and artistic assets!
Composition:
Your composition is clean and simple with a correct placement of the subject within the frame, according to the rule of thirds! The large empty space in font of the bird is a must for this efficient composition. I am thinking about the horizontal support in the lower part of the picture. Initially I thought it should be perfectly horizontal but then again, the way it is now (tilted) it breaks any mathematics which doesn't look good in art anyway! I think your decision to leave it tilted was right! Maybe this is the way it was in the field. I can't possibly know that. It is useless to say that the background is perfect for this kind of shot. Not only it is free of distracting objects but it also enhances your picture by adding a nice and natural blue color and some contrast! I also find the square format appropriate for this shot!
________________________________________________________________________
Sorry, this is not part of the critique! I've just noticed some signs of dust spots on the sensor in the right side of the picture! But if this picture is from your archive, the problem might already be solved.

Colors:
I've never seen this species in my life but the colors look natural and well saturated to me. They resemble the look of the white stork which I like so much! The red-white-black combination is very beautiful and maybe it's that what attracts me in these birds. The blue color of the sky just places the bird into its natural environment.
Contrast:
The contrast between black and white is excellent! Even if you add the red color you get a nice contrast. However, the contrast in the white plumage of the bird looks a bit low on my display, especially where the wings are. This is just a minor point since the main "attraction" is the head and the portrait and the great eye contact!
Exposure:
Although it was difficult to expose both black and white feathers correctly, you seem to have achieved it without difficulties! The details are perfectly visible not only in the black and white feathers but also in the eye! Very well done here!
Focus:
The accurate focus on the subject rendered beautiful details in the head and beak of the tern! The back of the bird although scarcely visible seems to fade in the distance as the DOF fades out.
An absolutely beautiful portrait of this cute tern! Outstanding job both technically and artistically! Thank you for sharing!
With Friendly Regards,
Eddie

Lovely guy! Good focus and control of exposure for this one. It seems like there is a slight 'glow' around it especially above its head.

Maravilha de foto e as cores são um show à parte. Belíssimo pássaro, o detalhe do bico e pernas na cor "vermelha" é demais.
Parabéns!!!

Hello Gert,
what a great image of the Arctic tern. The white parts are really well exposed. The species for me is a key to the most wonderful environments. I hope to see some this year.
Thank you for sharing this very nice picture!
