| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Taken only a few days ago while out on the Island of Aland ( Finland). Saw this one and many others in the area where I decided to get mosquito bitten many, many times just to go chasing these woodpeckers.
There where many out this particular evening, not sure if I times it will or just that time of the year. There were also many young ones around in there nests. I have a nice shot of one which I will promise to post tomorrow and its definately worth a look.
Was still not worth getting bitten on the legs 10+ times each leg 5+ times on the arms? well that will teach me to venture into the forest in Sweden and Finland without propert clothing......!! |

Hi Demetrio, not the easiest birds to capture on camera. I know how you feel about being bitten, I'm always getting bitten by horse flies...boy do they itch!
Nice shot for the dark conditions, you've managed to capture it's plumage details and got a glint in the eye so well done there.
Good work.

Very nice colours and good sharpness.. It's pretty difficult to capture the wood peacker. well done!
Very nice picture, Demetrio.
Good details, nice colours and well composed.
Well done.
BTW; You never heard about, MYGGA, its the best thing against mosquitos. Try it and you will never be bitten again.
