OK here is that baby woodpecker I promised to put on. While on a visit to a friends summer house in Aland, a small isaland off Aland, luck for some... Well I heard this noise coming from a tree and decided ton have an inspection and out comes this little thing for a quick peek.
So I waited about 10/15mins and he/she became friendly so I took quite a few shot and got closer and close . The time then came for me to leave it in peace and I could still hear it making noises as I walked away. Probably a call for the mother wanting some food. |

Hi Demetrio,
Good shot of a baby woodpecker, a very difficult subject and you got enough of his face to show it with a lot of detailed. TFS Iris
Nice work. I am glad you went to investiate the noise! If you hadn't, this cutie would not be here on TN. He/she is still a bit shy, only a small part of the head poking out for a quick look, but it was long enough for you to capture it. Well done. Thanks for sharing this baby!

Hi Demetrio
As an avid birder, this one is an added bonus for me - So cute, and I love the natural environment in which the picture was taken.
Try a bit od underexposure when using flaaaash, it helps to generate more narural colours. Also, if you could clone in some detail on the OE white patch on the cheek, it will enhance the overall impact of the picture.
Hi Demetrio,
Cute shot! The baby woodpecker looks snug and protected in the tree.
I like the colours and composition. Well captured! Your curiosity and patience brought lovely results :)
