[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This beautiful male, Lycaeides idas, was resting after a cool shower, trying to warm up again when the sun came out. Thus it gave me this unusual view with the wings spread wide open.

Although the campact camera has limitations for this kind of work, it is easy to carry and you never know when you will get a chance like this.

Hi Alan,
I agree completely about having a camera handy for spontaneous pictures! That's what I like about my Ixus 70. It's a pity nobody has critiqued this photo yet. It's an excellent macro shot with good depth of field for a small point and shoot camera like that. Really beautiful colours and excellent detail and textures captured. Blue happens to be my favourite colour :)
