Hello Alan,
Not often the Arran Brown graces us with a flat open wing display for the photographer, but you made good use of it with this fine sharp capture contrasting superbly with the BG leaf.
Thanks for sharing this one: I must try to emulate this in the summer!

Beautiful shot Nice field guide POV, good center compo and natural colors. Sharpness is good but you could use little unsharp mask on wings here

Hallo Alan
This is a very good and close shot of this butterfly. To me the colours are dark but nevert the less beautiful. I like the white and grey patterns on the edge of the wings. The patterns on the wings itself is also spectacular. A delightful macro, with the butterfly nearly filling the whole frame. The greenery brings out the bright colours of the butterfly well. Thanks for sharing.

Hello Alan,
your picture shows the 'whole' beauty of this Erebia species.
Wings are spread really flat
and due the well selected point of view in combination with exact focu, you achieved
excellent sharpness over the entire surface.
Furthermore, you captured a nicely marked specimen!

Outstanding shot of this tiny but beautiful butterfly with such gorgeous colours and markings on its wings. Very neat and sharp image and against the green leaf it stands out perfectly.
