| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
A typical view to the Ourat (Islands) in Merikarvia. The whole archipelago consists of small islands and dangerous shallow waters with rocks sticking out of the water. At this time of the year the Fireweed (Epilobium angustifolium) and Meadowsweet (Filipendula ulmaria) are flowering extensively creating beautiful contrasts in the landscapes (or seascapes).
In the background the closest gray clouds right above the sea are sea smoke that is formed when when very cold air drifts across relatively warm water and water vapor is added to air which is much colder than the vapor's source.
I will post more photos of the sea smoke in the following days. |

Hi Pentti,
What a very nice photo. Beautiful colours. Good POV and BG. I know the sea smoke. In the Netherlands we know this phenomenon also. But anyway a very good capture. Regards and TFS Bob
Gorgeous colors! We get 'sea smoke' too. It lays like a blanket over the valley where I live, keeping our temperatures warmer through winter but blocking the sunlight for much of the year.
Hello Pentti
Again nice image. I like the composition and colours.
Maybe I would sharpen the picture a little.
Best wishes
Ania
