| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Flowering Hairy Wood-rush (Luzula pilosa) goes easily unnoticed by an average person walking in the woods. It grows up to 30 cm tall, often much less, and belongs to the family of Juncaceae. It usually flowers in May in the southern Finland and in June in the north. In the photo the flowers are just about to open. The species is common in the whole country typically in forests and forest edges.
