[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I was photographing Water Lilies in a cloudy afternoon, when I spotted this little Water Spider (Argyroneta aquatica) balancing on the water surface. It had lost its left fore leg, but balanced its walk fine with 7 legs. It was moving fast so I had to use short shutter speed and the DOF became narrow.

Hello Pentti

Beautiful capture. The light is very interesting and its crystal clear. I love the quality of the water and the spiders reflection on the water!

Hello Pentti
I like the narro DOF in this very nice macro shot.
It's very nice and does attrackt the eye directly to the spider and it's wonderful reflection on the water surface.
Lovely light, color tones and stilness of the water.
Very well done.
By the way, it's not the left fore leg that's partly missing, but the most hind on the right side.
Have a nice weekend.
Kindest regards, Harry

I like the shot not only for the spider, but the force of water tension that can be seen around the spiders feet. Congratulations.

Hi Pentti, I've seen all kinds of water striders of course, but I didn't know there were water spiders as well. Today I've learned something. The shot is good, even with your difficulties. You have a nice capture of the spider, the textures of the water are great, showing the surface tension and very fine ripples. I like that reflection too.

Thanks, John

Hi Pentti.
Wow, thats great capturing this spider walking water. Great composition using the ripples to bring the eye straight to the spider. Great detail and well exposed.
Wonderful
