[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Pic was taken when going ice fishing, no luck with fish, but some surprising ice structures. The ice formations in the picture were most probably formed when sea water was spraying on the rocks when air temperature was below zero.

It is always difficult to take sunny snow pictures but some shadows/highlights PS help was very handy.

I like it Shir - very unnusual ice formation. Great composition with dark blue sky and ice. I've never saw this before. TFS!

Good composition and detail. I like it, we don't get much in the line of snow in Cape Town (that is, we NEVER get snow).

Unusual formation and great POV. This photo will last longer than the fish would have.
Thank you.

Jolie et originale composition qui ne laisse pas de glace ;-)
Well done.

This is fabulous. Well worth catching instead of fish.
You live in an amazing country Shir.
I travelled to Finland approx 10 years ago on a business trip and had the pleasure of riding a skidoo (spelling?) across a frozen lake, an experience I shall never forget!
An amazing shot, TFS.

Very impressive formations Shir, and very well photographed. They do look a lot like stalactites, although the correct term is icicles, but I'm sure you knew that anyway.Nice image.
Thanks for posting.
Finland,Finland,Finland,
the country where I want to be,
your mountains so lofty,
your tree tops so tall,
Finland,Finland,Finland,
Finland has it all. :)

This is a very interesting picture Shir. The stalactites are beautiful captured with very clever handling of the light. The sharpness/dof is very good and the blue background really sets the ice off in a great way. Not an easy picture to take but you managed well.

Great exposure for this surealistic scenary. Doesnt it remember a Gaudi building? I have never had the chance to see this, so I liked you posted it. Thanks!

Shalom Shir,

a almost surrealistic picture.
Could be anything from plant, fungi to animal or outerspace. Excellent deep blue sky & great POV.

Thomas

This is very beautiful, almost like the teeth of a great creature with it's mouth open. I love the color and sharpness, all that white must have been hard to capture without overexposing. Well done.
