Hi Gert
Looks like the sun just hit him in the eye reflecting the beautiful golden yellow. Marvellous capture of the movement in the wings whiles the body and head was perfectly frozen.
I like the composition, although the duck might be a little small on the crop, but I can understand your reasons. The colours are great and that yellow eye is magic. The DOF was quite sufficient for this shot and it gave ample details while the OOF BG nicely enhanced the bird. You did well with the exposure to prevent OE on the whitish areas.

Hi Gert,

Excellent flight shot, I've been trying this myself recently and can fully appreciate the difficulty in these type of shots. Great composition and lovely warm light. Just the right amount of motion blur to give a sense of movement but nice and sharp where it counts.

Let me start by saying WOW another flight shot which is simply superb , love the eye on this coz its so sharp as loot writes as if the sun hit the eye. I have started to try the flight shots now a days bit unsucessfull till now , hopefully capture atleast 1 . Thanx for sharing such an amazing pic .

WOW!!!!! Loot mentioned what I meant to comment on already, so let's focus on the wing-tips some more: the motion-blurred tips that still have so much detail, strategically placed on a diagonal, they look almost as if painted and give this shot lots of dynamic; for me this makes this shot.
The subject may be a bit small in the frame, but I very much like the composition on the diagonals with the head in the center and some space left to the left in direction of flight, which would not have improved with an enlargement, so I think I prefer it just as it is.

Belle présentation de ce canard en pleine action et a très grande vitesse ce qui augmente la difficulté de la prise.Les couleurs et la nettetée sont très bonnes, belle composition car la prise est vraiment réussie.
