[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Brenthis dapne / Braamparelmoervlinder / Marbled Fritillary / Brombeer-Perlmutterfalter / Le Nacré de la ronce.

The marbled effect on the underside gives this species its name. The similar Lesser marbled fritillary Brenthis ino is distinguished by an additional yellow shaded cell on the underside hindwing.
This particular species is different to the other fritillaryspecies by the fact that a female lays eggs on Bramble, rubus species, where as a large number of fritillaries use viola or violet species.

Hibernation as caterpillar.

Flies from end may until half august.

Hi Harm,
Very fine composition which shows this Marbled Fritillary on a blossom tree. Beautiful, harmonious colours too.
Best regards
Anne
